THE DIFFERENCE MADE BY THE CUTERA LASER.

The Cutera laser combines the ideal laser wavelength with the most flexible settings, delivering a superior vascular laser system. It treats a wide range of vessels, from tiny spider veins to deeper reticular varices, quickly, safely and effectively. Patients with dark, fair or tanned skin can achieve dramatic results.

HOW DOES CUTERA LASER VEINE TREATMENT WORK?

The Cutera laser emits pulses of light energy that cause the blood located in the vein to coagulate, causing the vessels to be destroyed which are later reabsorbed by your body. The blood will then be redirected to veins located well below the surface of the skin, where it should flow.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM CUTERA LASER TREATMENT?

The Cutera Laser features a unique design and extended wavelength that can treat all patients regardless of skin color. Your doctor can advise you and tell you if Cutera Laser Vein Treatment is right for you.

WHAT TYPES OF VEINS CAN BE TREATED?

The Cutera laser can remove unsightly veins on all parts of the body. Small facial veins (or “telangiectasias”) can be treated quickly, without bruising or complications. Spider veins and deep varicose veins in the legs can also be treated with excellent results. Knotty varicose veins are not suitable for this treatment. A careful evaluation with your doctor will determine which vessels can be treated and the best procedure to follow.

HOW DOES THIS TECHNIQUE COMPARE TO SCLEROTHERAPY?

Your doctor will advise you on the best treatment option, but many doctors and patients prefer Cutera laser vein treatment because it does not involve any painful injections.

WHAT ABOUT RED BLISTERS AND WINE STAINS?

Red blisters or “hemangiomas” respond very well to Cutera laser treatment; a single session is usually sufficient. Patients who experience port wine stains and other vascular lesions and thought they would never find a solution to their problem are blown away by the results of their Cutera laser vascular treatment. Consult your doctor who will carry out a complete evaluation.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Very often, patients find that they only need one or two sessions. However, the number of sessions varies depending on the number of vessels to be treated, as well as their color and size. The results are different from person to person, so you will need to consult a health professional to study your case.

IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?

Most patients experience a tingling sensation as the pulses are emitted from the handpiece. Although local anesthesia or pain medication is not necessary, many patients choose to apply a topical anesthetic before treatment. After the session, the pain is minimal or even absent.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A SESSION?

Following the treatment, small redness or bruising may occur.

For treatment of larger veins, brown pigmentation may persist for a few months or weeks following treatment. For patients treated on the legs, it is advisable to wear compression stockings for a short period of time.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?

Although many patients suffer few or no side effects, the most common are mild reddening and swelling of the skin. These effects usually disappear within 24 hours. Some patients may have a few bruises and, in rare cases, blisters.

Consult your doctor to receive complete information on the benefits and risks of treatment.

Should I restrict my activities after a session?

Patients usually resume normal activity immediately after treatment. It is nevertheless recommended to avoid brutal activities such as intense effort in the first 24 hours after treatment. The use of sun protection is recommended on all treated areas exposed to the sun. In any case, it is recommended to limit exposure to the sun.

HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS BE VISIBLE?

Most patients found that the treated veins showed significant improvement after two to six weeks of treatment. However, the final result may not be visible for several months. The appearance of new veins is possible over time, but these can also be eliminated with the Cutera laser.
